Psychiatric Residential

Mountain View Place, the adolescent residential psychiatric program at Cedar Springs Hospital, helps 12- to 17-year-olds who struggle with behavioral issues at home and school. It is designed to treat and stabilize psychiatric disorders including but not limited to depression, oppositional defiant disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety disorders.

Residents in the program participate in daily process groups and continued education through our nationally accredited school. Treatment includes equine-assisted therapy (horses), recreational therapy and family therapy.

The program is run by a multidisciplinary treatment team of board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, licensed psychologists, master-level therapists, recreational therapists and registered or licensed nurses. Appropriate care recommendations are made based on a confidential assessment.
