Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

The Bridge is Cedar Springs Hospital’s PHP for adults with a psychiatric, substance use or trauma-related disorder. Patients attend groups to learn skills they can immediately use when home for evenings and weekends. Evidenced-based treatments are used to help them achieve their goals and return to daily life. This highly structured, intensive program is for people who need more than outpatient services, but do not require the intensity of acute inpatient care or rehab.

The Bridge is a day treatment program that meets five days a week, Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays. The program offers different tracks (see below) to tailor treatment to individual needs.

Bridge to Stability

This track focuses on coping with psychiatric disorders. It provides education and skills to help patients meet life’s challenges while coping with their condition. The treatment plan is built on Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and illness management and recovery (IMR).

Bridge to Recovery

This track is designed to assist people who struggle with co-occurring substance use and psychiatric diagnoses (dual diagnosis).

Bridge to Resiliency

This track provides a secure place for trauma survivors to recover from their experiences, develop skills to handle life’s challenges and regain their identity in the wake of trauma. The treatment plan incorporates cognitive processing therapy (CPT), resiliency training, DBT and WRAP®.
